Though it was a tough battle this year between the Top Teams of CalROCS, Mark Berger and Garrett Ness pulled out an amazing series victory in the Super Modified Class. Having never won a CalROCS event, but consistantly staying in the top pack; the Misfit Motorsports Team was a sleeper all season while battling it out with Jason Scherer and Mike Shaffer.
From Coeur D’alene, Idaho, Berger and Ness never had a bad finish. The season scores reflected some of the greatest competition CalROCS has ever seen and Misfit Motorsports arised victorious through it all.
Winning the Legends Class was Bob Standage and Tom Ahern in the 999 Jeep. Taking the victory by a very close margin, Standage showed every one it truely was all about the crawlin’. With Becca Webster and Standage swapping the lead all year; the championship came down to the final course in the final event.
And in one of the most dominating showing in ClaROCS history; Jeff Mello and Kevin Yoder not only won the Modified Stock series, but did it with attitude. Winning three of the four events, the Skyjacker CJ-7 taught everyone about tire placement. In a semi-close second was Cody Waggoner in a CJ-5. These two teams have been bettling for years, look for the rest of the Modifed Stock at CalROCS and W.E.ROCK Events.
Congrats to the Series Winners, Top Left: Mark Berger, Middle Right: Bob Standage, Bottom Right: Jeff Mello

XRRA members have been hosting Rock Races since 2003. Look for the merger with CalROCS to initiate events in Western U.S. venues, including California, Nevada, and Moab, Utah.
In the world of motorsports, rock racing is rock-crawling’s faster-paced cousin. The goal for teams is get to the top of a course or trail in the fastest time. Rock racing lends itself to spectacular vehicle action: Think oval-track racing over the biggest rocks and ledges to be found.
The XRRA series will include at least 4 events. For more information and sign up
